The story is literally as old as time. Person is single. Everyone around said person is in a relationship and celebrating it in every way possible. Single person gets annoyed at being single, then bitter and finally ends up consuming large amounts of dessert while watching Netflix for hours on end. Single person remains alone.
Sad, right? Single people appear everywhere throughout history and many have had quite an influence over historical events. But before we get deep into exploring our predecessors, it’s important we all realize that while we single people are quite alone in a romantic sense, we are part of a very large, interesting community.
Many often glamorize the single life. However, there are many, many aspects about it that suck. And it doesn’t get better with age. If you’re like us, we are reminded of this fact at every opportunity without a break. Sometimes we need a break so we can be openly bitter. Cue the birth of S.W.A.B.® (a.k.a. Singles Who Are Bitter).
We at S.W.A.B. know that we are definitely not the first ones to feel this way so we thought to create a place where we can share your bitterness and anger for being single while everyone around you seems to be falling in and out of love as often as they change their underwear. We hope S.W.A.B. is the place you can come to share in the misery of having heard for the millionth time that you aren’t “trying hard enough” or that you “need to be less picky” or not to worry because there is “a special someone is out there for you” so that you can stay sane and keep from going postal with the next engagement photo session you see on Facebook.
